Casa Enzo Ferrari Museum open and ready for your envy

If there wasn't already enough of interest for Ferrari enthusiasts making the trek to the motoring nirvana of Modena, Italy, as of March 10 there is 5,000 square metres more reason to make the trip.
The Casa Enzo Ferrari Museum is now open, housed in a building as dramatic as some of the marque's cars. It is built on the very spot where Enzo Ferrari was born, indeed the house has been preserved along with the cars. Also representative of the past a restored workshop, in counterpoint to the spectacular, new "open hand" design of the gallery. The new building is all glass and aluminium modernity, with highlights of yellow, drawn from the colour of the background of Ferrari's Prancing Horse badge.

The museum's first exhibition is called "The origins of the myth". The first car viewed on the tour is the the 815 Auto Avio Costruzioni of 1940. Then prepare to walk slowly amidst some very fast pieces of history. Here's the list of exhibits:

- 1934: Alfa Romeo Gran Premio Tipo B P3 aerodinamica
- 1936: Alfa Romeo Tipo C 12C

- 1934: Fiat 508 S MM Coppa d’Oro (from the Camellini Collection)

- 1938: Alfa Romeo 158 – 8 cylinders in line - Capacity 1479 cc – Power delivery 195 bhp at 7200 bhp (Alfa Romeo Museum)
- 1926: Maserati Tipo 26 – 8 cylinders in line – Capacity 1492.6 cc – Power delivery 115 bhp at 5300 bhp (property of Maserati SpA)
- 1950: Stanguellini (Bialbero) – 4 cyl. In line - Capacity 741 cc – Power delivery 40 bhp at 6000 bhp (Stanguellini Museum)

Hours and admission prices
The Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari is open every day except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The visiting hours are:
- 9.30 am to 6.00 pm - 1st October / 30th April
- 9.30 am to 7.00 pm - 1st May / 30th September
The entry prices are as follows:
Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari only
- Adults: 13,00 Euro
- Students and over 65: 11,00 Euro
- Children 6-10: 9,00 Euro
Combo tickets - to Museo Casa Ferrari in Modena and Museo Ferrari in Maranello
- Adults: 22,00 Euro
- Students and over 65: 18,00 Euro
