The Pageant of Power which was held over the past weekend in North Shropshire was the place to see the best classic cars and unusual vehicles, with organisers estimating that around half a billion pounds worth of motoring might was present.
The weather was not kind to the visitors in the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle but this did not stop huge crowds turning out to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
One of the most impressive displays of the whole weekend was carried out by stunt car expert Terry Grant, who attempted to complete an entire lap of the 1.2 mile race course at the event while driving on two wheels instead of four.
The precision required for this kind of stunt was immense and ultimately Mr Grant could not accomplish his goal because of the sharp bends, but his efforts were nevertheless warmly appreciated by those present.
The award for best in show went to a Jaguar E-Type, which is the perfect continuation of this particular model's 50th birthday celebrations which have been going on all year. What made this car special was that it had been written off during a racing crash in the mid 1960s and so many thought restoration would be unmanageable.
